Iowa’s football program gathered fans and prospects alike last Saturday for its annual Hawkeye Tailgater, a tradition that blends community spirit with early‑season recruiting.
A New Wave of 2029 Talent
Among the visitors was Hank Doyle, a 6‑foot‑4 tight end from Grafton High School in Wisconsin, whose size and athleticism have quickly made him a coveted prospect.
Doyle announced on social media that the Hawkeyes had extended a scholarship, joining a growing list of offers from Wisconsin, Northwestern and Miami (Ohio) that have arrived over the past few weeks.
He is not the only 2029 talent catching the Hawkeyes’ eye; defensive back Earnest Winters III also received an offer during the same weekend, marking a rare double‑commitment from the class.
With both players poised to shape Iowa’s future roster, the coaching staff is positioning itself at the forefront of a recruiting wave that could define the next several years.
