Nolan Cain is set to return to Texas A&M in a dual capacity as associate head coach and recruiting coordinator, a development that has reignited optimism within the Aggies’ baseball program.

A Recruiting Maestro Rejoins the Aggies

During his earlier stint with the program, Cain helped guide the Aggies to a 135‑62 record and brought the club to the College World Series Finals in 2024, showcasing his ability to blend strategic coaching with player development.

His reputation as one of college baseball’s premier recruiters is underscored by a track record that includes eight top‑10 recruiting classes at Texas A&M, LSU and Texas, as well as the signing of high‑profile early‑round MLB Draft picks such as Dylan Crews, Ty Floyd, Braden Montgomery and Jace LaViolette.

Cain’s eye for talent was evident when he mentored Rawlings Gold Glove winner Carson Tinney and Buster Posey Award finalist Rylan Galvan, both of whom emerged as standout performers under his guidance.

Beyond the field, Cain holds a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies from LSU, earned in 2009, and previously contributed to LSU’s 2009 national championship team before embarking on a professional playing career. His return is expected to reinforce the Aggies’ competitiveness and deepen their pipeline of future professionals.
