Ana Ramos announced her resignation as head coach of the Mississippi University for Women women's soccer program, effective June 30, 2026, as she looks to pursue new opportunities nearer her Texas home.
Ramos steered the program for two seasons, posting a 4‑12‑2 record in her debut year and a 1‑13‑4 mark in her second, a season that stands as the program’s poorest since its 2018 inception.
A Brief Tenure and Recognized Achievements
Despite the win‑loss column, the team earned recognition when three players made the All‑SLIAC squads and six others collected SLIAC All‑Academic honors.
Before arriving in Columbus, Ramos played four seasons at LeTourneau University in Texas from 2011 to 2014, where she earned three Distinguished Scholar‑Athlete awards.
Her departure marks the fourth coaching turnover at MUW this year, following the hiring of Stewart Mena to lead the men's soccer side in January, the promotion of Dean Burrows to assistant athletic director after three years as head men's basketball coach, and the appointment of Bernard Hopkins as the new men's basketball head coach in May.
Looking Ahead
The athletic department says the search for new leadership will prioritize candidates who can build on the existing talent and restore competitive momentum across the soccer, basketball and volleyball squads.
