IVCC Launches Summer Athletic Clinics for Local Youth
Illinois Valley Community College is opening its doors to young athletes this summer with two separate sports clinics designed to sharpen skills and foster a love of competition. The programs, scheduled for late June and late July, are part of the college’s ongoing effort to engage the surrounding community through youth sports.
The first offering, a volleyball clinic, runs from June 29 to June 30 and welcomes students from grades 2 through 12. Head coach Kate Vigars will lead the sessions, guiding participants through passing, setting, skill development and strategic game play.
A week later, from July 27 to July 30, the college will host a basketball clinic for children in grades 2 through 8. Under the direction of head coach Chris Herman, the camp will cover shooting techniques, ball handling, passing, team dynamics and defensive fundamentals.
Both clinics will be conducted in the IVCC Gym, providing a modern facility for instruction and practice. The college emphasizes a supportive environment where coaches focus on individual growth while promoting teamwork.
Families interested in enrolling their children can find detailed schedules and registration forms on the college’s community outreach page. More information is available at ivcceagles.com/community-outreach/athletic_clinics.
