South Carolina’s men’s basketball program has undergone a sweeping transformation, bringing in twelve fresh faces for the second straight year.
Head coach Lamont Paris says the moves are designed to plug the gaps left by a roster that struggled with size, physicality and rebounding.
A New Investment Model
The previous roster was among the least expensive in the SEC and finished near the bottom of the conference, a fact Paris does not shy away from.
With a dramatically larger NIL budget, the Gamecocks can now chase the nation’s most coveted prospects, a shift Paris describes as essential for winning.
Among the newcomers are Cam Heide, Aleksas Aieliauskas, Davion Hannah and Jeremiah Donati, each expected to add depth and skill.
Paris notes that negotiations have become more complex for a handful of elite programs, but the investment in talent remains the cornerstone of his vision.
