A demanding conference slate
The University of South Carolina on Thursday unveiled its complete conference schedule for the 2027 men’s basketball season, laying out a road map of home and away battles that will define the Gamecocks’ campaign.
Among the opponents are six programs that earned berths in the 2026 NCAA Tournament, including traditional powerhouses Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Texas A&M and Texas, promising early tests against top‑ranked competition.
Particularly notable are the home‑and‑home series slated against Florida, Georgia and Mississippi State, matchups that will give the Gamecocks multiple opportunities to fine‑tune their play against familiar foes.
Head coach Lamont Paris, now in his fifth season with the program, will be looking to build on a 13‑19 record from the previous year as he seeks to elevate the team’s competitiveness within the SEC.
A challenging road ahead
Facing a lineup that includes multiple tournament‑tested squads means the Gamecocks will need to lean on depth, defensive discipline and the experience of returning veterans. The coaching staff has emphasized resilience and adaptability in practices, hoping to translate those qualities into tangible results when the first tip‑off arrives.
