Utah Mammoth Enlists Tara Connolly and Greg May to Elevate Coaching Internship

Former collegiate mentors bring championship pedigree to a summer development camp

The Utah Mammoth are pressing forward with their annual coaching internship program as part of this summer’s development camp, bringing in two distinguished guest coaches to sharpen the team’s tactical depth.

Mentorship Meets Experience

Tara Connolly, who serves as an assistant coach for Dartmouth’s women’s hockey program, will lend her expertise to the Mammoth staff, focusing on goaltending, defensive structures and the penalty kill, a unit she helped elevate to a 74.4 percent success rate in the 2024‑25 season.

Greg May, the newly appointed head coach of the University of Minnesota’s women’s hockey team, will also join the camp, bringing a track record that includes leading the Golden Gophers to the 2025 NCAA Frozen Four and securing tournament berths in 2024 and 2026.

Both coaches will spend their days shadowing the Mammoth’s regular staff, attending daily strategy meetings, running on‑ice drills and ultimately serving as assistant coaches for a Black and White scrimmage scheduled for Thursday, July 2.

Their participation underscores a broader ambition to blend collegiate success with professional development, offering players a glimpse of high‑level preparation while the organization continues to invest in growth pathways.
