A Revamped Slate for Kentucky Basketball
The Southeastern Conference has released the full slate for the 2026‑27 Kentucky Wildcats men’s basketball season, confirming an 18‑game conference schedule that blends tradition with fresh challenges. Nine of those contests will be played on the iconic hardwood of Rupp Arena, while the other nine will take the team on the road across the Southeast and beyond.
Among the most anticipated items are home‑and‑home series against Ole Miss, Tennessee and Vanderbilt. These matchups mark the first time since the 2013‑14 campaign that Kentucky will meet Ole Miss multiple times in the regular season, and they extend long‑standing rivalries with the Volunteers and the Commodores that rank among the nation’s most storied.
The schedule also underscores Kentucky’s historic dominance over Tennessee, a series that stands at 165‑79 in the Wildcats’ favor. The team has swept the Volunteers in three of the last four seasons and currently holds an eight‑game road winning streak in Knoxville, the longest such stretch since the 2003‑06 run.
Other notable fixtures include road battles at Florida, Georgia, Mississippi State, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas, while the home slate will also welcome Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, LSU, Texas A&M and South Carolina. The diversity of opponents promises a competitive environment that tests Kentucky’s depth and adaptability.
Kentucky’s recent form adds extra intrigue: a 72‑63 victory over Ole Miss at home last season improved the Wildcats’ record against the Rebels to 58‑2 in Lexington, and the team enters the new season with momentum built on a series of strong performances.
