Riley White has been appointed as the new head baseball coach at Lehi High School, taking over from Eric Madsen who stepped down to focus on his sons' college athletics.
White spent the past season as an assistant coach while also teaching special education at the school, a dual role that has given him intimate insight into both the program and the student body.
Athletic Director Quincy Lewis highlighted White’s deep familiarity with the team, noting his playing days under Madsen at Utah Valley University and his long‑standing connection to the Lehi community.
A New Era for the Pioneers
The Pioneers have enjoyed a resurgence in recent years, capturing state titles in 2022 (5A) and 2024 (6A) and finishing as runners‑up in 2023 and 2025. White inherits a program poised to maintain that momentum.
Beyond baseball, White’s athletic résumé includes a stint on the 2005 USA Junior Men’s National Fastpitch Softball Team and a two‑year mission in Johannesburg, South Africa, where he paused his studies and playing career to serve.
He also coached the softball program at Skyridge from 2016 to 2021, further broadening his multi‑sport expertise. White expressed honor at the appointment and pledged to build on the school’s tradition of excellence.
Eric Madsen will remain involved as a physical‑education teacher and consultant, ensuring continuity as the team transitions to its new leadership.
