The University of Texas has begun to outline its basketball slate for the 2026‑27 season, a schedule that will be overseen by head coach Sean Miller as the Longhorns prepare for another competitive year in the Southeastern Conference.
Conference Schedule Overview
The SEC has released the slate of conference opponents and the venues where Texas will meet them, confirming a full round‑robin format that pits the Longhorns against each of the league’s 15 other members.
Permanent rivals Oklahoma and Texas A&M will continue to provide the traditional home‑and‑home battles, while the remainder of the conference slate features matchups at Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Kentucky, Missouri, Tennessee and Vanderbilt on the home side, and trips to Florida, Georgia, LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, South Carolina and the aforementioned Oklahoma and Texas A&M on the road.
Home games for Texas are set for Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Kentucky, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas A&M, giving the fan base a chance to experience a majority of the schedule within the friendly confines of the Frank Erwin Center.
Road games will take the Longhorns to Florida, Georgia, LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Vanderbilt, ensuring a balanced mix of opponents across the region.
Season Timeline
The conference portion of the schedule kicks off on January 2 and will run through March 6, culminating in the SEC Tournament at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville from March 10‑14.
Non‑Conference Action
Beyond league play, Texas will test itself in the non‑conference arena, beginning with participation in the Rady Children’s Invitational in San Diego, where the Longhorns are slated to meet Georgetown in the semifinals on November 26 at 1:30 p.m. Central time.
The tournament’s championship and third‑place games are scheduled for November 27, and the Longhorns will also travel to Louisville for an SEC‑ACC Challenge showdown on December 1 before hosting Memphis on December 16.
