Calallen's Phil Danaher Stadium is undergoing a series of upgrades ahead of the upcoming football season, with work funded by the district's 2024 bond package.
Community Investment in Youth Sports
The improvements, which include a new press box equipped with an ADA‑compliant elevator, a larger video scoreboard, modernized entrances, new fencing, and expanded concessions and restroom facilities, are designed to serve not only the football team but also other athletic squads, the marching band, and the broader school community.
Season Opener and Home Games
The Wildcats will open the campaign on August 27 at Javelina Stadium in Kingsville, then return to the renovated Danaher Stadium for their second contest against Carroll. Both games will showcase the freshly upgraded amenities for players, fans, and media.
Beyond the Gridiron
Athletic director Charlie Reeve emphasized that the stadium project is part of a larger campus transformation that includes re‑turfing softball and baseball fields, constructing a new fine arts building, and completing a modern track facility, all aimed at providing well‑rounded opportunities for students.
Reeve noted that the community’s commitment to its children and schools reflects a shared belief that strong extracurricular programs enrich the educational experience and foster local pride.
