RIT’s baseball program celebrated a double milestone this spring as five of its student‑athletes earned spots on the 2026 College Sports Communicator Academic All-District team.
A Dual Focus on Performance and Scholarship
The selection, which requires sophomore standing and a minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA, underscores the program’s emphasis on balancing rigorous academics with competitive play.
Jarin Moses, a game design and development graduate, closed his career with a .336 batting average, 51 hits, 14 doubles, seven home runs and 35 RBI, while maintaining a 3.60 GPA.
Trent Rapp, a mechanical engineering major, finished eighth in the Liberty League with a .383 average, eight home runs, 62 hits, 52 runs and 102 total bases, and graduated with a 3.54 GPA.
Roberto Reade, who earned a computing security degree, posted a .267 average and 27 RBI, finishing his studies with a 3.59 GPA.
Charlie Slaymaker, an accounting major, contributed 29 runs, 34 hits, nine doubles and five home runs while posting a 3.83 GPA, rounding out a strong offensive lineup.
Pitcher Ryan Moran capped his second year with a 7‑1 record, a 2.79 earned run average and a perfect 4.00 GPA in chemical engineering, leading the conference in wins.
Championship Triumph
The Tigers’ success extended beyond individual accolades; the 2026 squad captured the Liberty League championship, securing an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament and finishing the season at 24‑15.
Coaches and teammates alike praised the team’s culture of excellence, noting that the academic distinctions reflect a broader commitment to student‑athlete development.
