Ava Irwin, the Orange County player of the year who dazzled as a freshman flag football standout for JSerra, is set to join Sierra Canyon for the upcoming season.
During the fall campaign she recorded 163 receptions for 1,903 yards and 27 touchdowns, helping JSerra post a perfect 28‑0 record and capture the CIF‑SS Division 1 championship.
Defensive mastery and accolades
On defense she amassed 94 flag pulls and 15 interceptions while earning CIF‑SS Division 1 player of the year and first‑team All‑Trinity League honors.
Her move will also bring her together with Makena Cook, a fellow Orange Lutheran transfer who was named Orange County player of the year in 2024 after guiding the Lancers to a Division 1 title.
Irwin will observe the section’s sit‑out period before making her debut for Sierra Canyon, a pause that reflects the increasing focus on transfer regulations in high school sports.
