A visual twist on a traditional release
Kentucky’s athletics department announced that the 2026‑27 SEC schedule would be revealed in an unconventional way, teaming up with NBA Paint, a social media brand celebrated for its simple, humorous NBA‑themed illustrations.
The collaboration invited NBA Paint’s artists to reimagine each opponent’s mascot, turning the schedule into a series of light‑hearted designs that blend basketball graphics with the quirky personalities of rival teams.
According to the release, Kentucky will meet Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Ole Miss in home‑and‑home series, while also traveling to face Florida, Georgia, Mississippi State, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas on the road. The Wildcats will also host Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, LSU, South Carolina and Texas A&M at home.
The schedule’s geographic spread reflects the breadth of the SEC, stretching from the Bluegrass State to the Gulf Coast and the Great Plains, promising a mix of road trips and home‑court advantages for the program.
What the artwork means for the Wildcats brand
By pairing each opponent’s mascot with a distinct visual motif, NBA Paint’s designs aim to capture the spirit of each school while maintaining a cohesive aesthetic that aligns with Kentucky’s own identity. The artwork serves both as a teaser and a celebration of the cultural tapestry that defines the SEC.
