A New Chapter for the Fighting Irish
Notre Dame’s men’s basketball program is entering a rebuilding phase after a difficult 2025‑26 campaign that saw its top three scorers leave the roster.
Head coach Micah Shrewsberry has responded by securing a group of experienced transfers, including guard Braeden Smith from Gonzaga, forward Logan Duncomb and big man Yoro Diallo, to add depth and senior leadership.
The incoming class blends four graduate students, two seniors and several other veterans, creating a unit that Shrewsberry describes as both cohesive and hungry for success.
Building chemistry has become a priority, with team leaders such as Brady Stevens and Braden Shrewsbury spearheading initiatives to tighten bonds off the court.
The season will open on November 1 with a highly anticipated matchup against Villanova in Rome, Italy, a venue that promises a fresh start for the program.
