The Indianapolis Star has unveiled its postseason Central Indiana All-Freshman Team for baseball, recognizing the most promising first-year players from the Class of 2029.
Fresh talent takes the spotlight
The first team showcases a blend of offensive firepower and pitching poise, with standouts like Aiden Carroll of Brebeuf Jesuit, who batted .382 and drove in 13 runs, and Chase Holmes from Zionsville, who posted a .340 average with six RBIs.
Braxton Kellermeir of Avon added a .323 average while scoring 16 runs and delivering 10 RBIs, while Sam Kriner from Roncalli contributed a .344 average, 15 RBIs and 26 runs scored.
The second team also brims with impact players. Noah Adams of Lebanon posted a 4.73 ERA and 35 strikeouts over 23.1 innings, while Conner Beam from Eminence combined a .312 average with 14 stolen bases.
Pitchers such as Keagan Linder of Tri-West (2.08 ERA, 56 strikeouts in 33.2/3 innings) and Levi Welty of Mooresville (3.20 ERA) highlight the depth of arms in the cohort.
Other notable contributors include Isaac Marshall of Heritage Christian, who hit .324 with 32 RBIs and three home runs, and Christian Wessel from Avon, who posted a 2.72 ERA alongside a .326 average and 28 RBIs.
The recognition extends across the region, with players from schools like Lebanon, Ben Davis, Fishers, Franklin Central, Greenfield-Central, Shortridge, Lapel, Bethesda Christian, Park Tudor and Purdue Poly Broad Ripple all earning spots.
