The NASCAR Cup Series returned to Watkins Glen International for a weekend that featured an unusual sight: two non‑chartered entries sharing the grid.
One of those cars, the No. 78 Live Fast Motorsports Chevrolet, made its debut with veteran sports‑car driver Katherine Legge behind the wheel.
Legge’s multi‑event schedule
Legge is slated to compete not only in the upcoming Coca‑Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway but also in the iconic Indy 500, extending her involvement beyond the traditional stock‑car calendar.
The team confirmed that Daniel Dye will drive the same No. 78 Chevrolet in three additional races next year, aiming to improve on his best finish of 24th at Talladega Superspeedway earlier in the season.
Looking ahead
Team owner B.J. McLeod, who previously raced the No. 78 at the Daytona 500 and Atlanta Motor Speedway, said he has no further starts planned for 2026, leaving the bulk of the schedule to Dye and the newly announced partnership with A.J. Foyt Enterprises and HMD Motorsports.
While the team will not field entries for the All‑Star Race at Dover Motor Speedway, the limited program reflects a cautious approach as the organization evaluates its long‑term prospects in a competitive landscape.
