A Night of Resilience in South Dakota
The Menno Mad Frogs and Tabor Bluebirds met Thursday night in a South Central League amateur baseball contest that stretched into extra innings, ultimately ending with a 7-4 victory for Menno.
Menno entered the game down 4-1, but a flurry of timely hits and aggressive base running turned the tide. Nick Ratzloff and Connor Merriam delivered clutch swings, while Dylan Lehr’s 3-for-5 night at the plate kept the rally alive.
On the mound, Macon Oplinger threw a complete game, surrendering four runs on twelve hits, while Tabor’s starter Easton Mudder went 3-for-5 but could not contain the Frogs’ surge. Josiah Peterson and Riley Rothschadl each added two hits and two RBIs for the Bluebirds, and Landon Bares contributed two hits before being relieved.
Looking Ahead
Menno will travel to Crofton, Nebraska, on Sunday, June 28, while Tabor heads to Lesterville, South Dakota, for a game on Thursday, July 2, seeking to build on their respective performances.
