Jalanie George, a five-star edge rusher who tops the 2028 recruiting class, announced this week that his college decision will come from a final list of six programs.
A Recruitment at a Crossroads
The six schools that remain in contention are the Oklahoma Sooners, Ohio State Buckeyes, Washington Huskies, Auburn Tigers, Florida Gators and Miami Hurricanes.
According to the Rivals Prediction Machine, Auburn currently enjoys a 15.5% probability of landing the prospect, the highest among the contenders, underscoring the Tigers’ aggressive push on the defensive side of the ball.
Threats from Traditional Powerhouses
Ohio State and Miami also loom as serious threats; both programs boast a track record of developing defensive players who have become prominent NFL draft picks, a factor that George has repeatedly highlighted.
This summer the recruit plans to tour Florida, Miami, Ohio State and Oklahoma, using the visits to gauge how each campus aligns with his academic goals, playing style and long-term development.
