SMU announced its 2026 women's soccer schedule on Friday, outlining a 18‑game campaign that includes 12 home contests and a demanding slate of opponents.
The Mustangs open the season on the road against Vanderbilt on August 12 before returning to Dallas for their home opener against North Texas on August 16.
Early non‑conference tests
SMU will meet Boise State, Stanford and Duke among its first dozen matches, each of which brings a distinct challenge and adds to the team's growing momentum.
The ACC portion of the schedule kicks off on September 11 at Miami, with the home conference opener slated for September 25 against Stanford.
Season finale and newcomers
The regular season concludes at home against Pitt on November 5, a game that will also mark the culmination of a roster overhaul that added 17 newcomers — seven transfers and ten freshmen — to the program.
Coach Nelson praised the incoming class, noting that the 245 shots recorded last season were the most under his tenure and the highest total since 2019, while the team finished 8‑8‑2 overall.
SMU will also face six opponents that were ranked or received votes in the final poll of last season, including five teams that finished inside the top‑15, underscoring the competitive nature of the upcoming schedule.
