The University of Maine men’s ice hockey program unveiled its 2026‑27 regular‑season slate, a 33‑game journey that blends a heavy home presence with a full complement of Hockey East contests.
The campaign opens with a two‑game road series at Holy Cross on October 2‑3, before the Black Bears return to Orono for their first home opener against Quinnipiac on October 9‑10.
Hockey East play kicks off with a back‑to‑back matchup at Boston University on October 30‑31, setting the tone for a schedule that will see Maine face each of the conference’s traditional powers.
Throughout November the Black Bears will host UMass, travel to Vermont, and welcome Boston College, while December brings a Border Battle at New Hampshire against Buffalo Wild Wings and a single tilt at UMass Lowell.
The first half of the season wraps with a home game against Army on December 19, and the second half resumes with a January 1‑2 series versus Miami (OH) before a string of home stands against Providence, UConn and UMass Lowell.
Milestone Celebration
A highlight arrives on February 5, when Alfond Arena will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a special celebration against Boston University, underscoring the program’s half‑century legacy.
