Texas A&M’s 2026‑27 men’s basketball schedule has been released, and the Aggies are set to face one of the most demanding slates in the Southeastern Conference. Head coach Bucky McMillan described the lineup as the second‑hardest in the SEC, emphasizing that the mix of home and away contests will test the team’s depth and resilience.
A Schedule That Tests the Aggies
The conference schedule features nine home games and nine away games, with three mirror opponents — LSU, Texas and Vanderbilt — appearing on both sides of the ledger. Home venues will host Alabama, Auburn, Arkansas, Tennessee, Oklahoma and Georgia, while the road trips include Florida, Kentucky, Missouri, Mississippi State, Ole Miss and South Carolina.
Seven of the Aggies’ contests will be against teams that earned a spot in last season’s March Madness, a testament to the competitive nature of the slate. Notably, only three of those marquee matchups will be played on the road, giving the team a slight edge in familiar settings.
Last year the Aggies posted an 11‑7 record in SEC play, highlighted by victories over LSU, Oklahoma, Auburn, Mississippi State, South Carolina, Georgia, Ole Miss and Kentucky. Those wins formed the foundation for a roster that blends returning veterans with several impactful transfers from the portal.
Coach McMillan has repeatedly stressed the importance of balance, pointing to the team’s improved shooting percentages, more versatile slashing options and added size in the frontcourt. He believes that this blend will allow the Aggies to compete effectively against the SEC’s elite talent.
