The Indoor Football League’s Week 16 delivered a dramatic shift in the coaches poll, as the San Diego Strike Force vaulted to second place following a convincing win over the Vegas Knight Hawks.
The Strike Force will now host the Jacksonville Sharks on Sunday night at 7:30 p.m. ET, with the broadcast streaming on Yahoo Sports, while the Knight Hawks travel to San Antonio to meet the Gunslingers on Saturday night at 9 p.m. ET, also on Yahoo Sports.
Green Bay Blizzard remains atop the poll, but the Sharks and Knights each slipped a spot despite their recent performances, underscoring the competitive nature of the league.
Player of the Week Honors
Offensive Player of the Week honors went to Paxton DeLaurent, quarterback of the Orlando Pirates, recognizing his prolific passing display that helped his team secure a win.
Defensive Player of the Week was awarded to Davontae Merriweather of the Arizona Rattlers, whose secondary play helped his squad dominate the opponent.
Special Teams Player of the Week went to kicker Ben Woodard of the Tucson Sugar Skulls, whose clutch kicking contributed heavily to his team’s victory.
The Strike Force now sit at 9‑2 overall and 7‑1 in the Western Conference, while the Knight Hawks improve to 9‑3 overall and 7‑2 in the conference, setting the stage for an intense finish to the season.
