North Dakota State University announced this week that it has renewed the contracts of its men’s and women’s basketball coaches, David Richman and Jory Collins, for an additional five years, keeping both leaders in charge through the 2030‑31 season.
A Milestone for the Bison Program
The extensions mark a pivotal moment for the Bison, who have enjoyed a resurgence under Richman’s guidance and a historic breakthrough under Collins. Richman’s teams have compiled a .615 career winning percentage and have earned four NCAA Tournament appearances, while his squads have contested eight Summit League Tournament championship games.
Under Collins, the women’s team captured its first-ever Summit League regular‑season title and posted three consecutive 20‑win seasons. The 2025‑26 campaign set a school record with 27 victories, and Collins was honored as the 2026 Kay Yow National Coach of the Year and the Summit League Coach of the Year.
Both coaches have also been recognized for their program‑building efforts. Richman’s men’s side set a new school record for wins in a season, and the women’s program now boasts the second‑most victories in NDSU history. Their combined leadership has positioned the Bison as a consistent contender on the national stage.
Looking Ahead
The five‑year agreements provide stability as the programs aim to sustain momentum, attract top recruits, and deepen their impact in the Summit League. Fans and alumni alike are optimistic that the Bison will continue to climb the rankings and add further accolades in the coming years.
