A Community‑Driven Push for Equality
Columbus soccer leagues are rolling out a new financial assistance program designed to broaden access for girls eager to play the sport.
The initiative is being coordinated with Every Kid Sports, a national nonprofit that connects families with funding, and it involves the Girls Tiny Tots and Pee Wee divisions of Columbus Recreation and Parks.
Qualifying families can apply for support for the upcoming 2026 fall season and the spring 2027 season, ensuring that financial constraints do not keep young athletes off the field.
Since its inception, Every Kid Sports has already reached more than 19,000 children across the United States, demonstrating the scale of need and the organization’s capacity to deliver resources.
Organizers say the ultimate aim is to remove cost barriers entirely, allowing girls to experience the teamwork, discipline and confidence that soccer can foster.
