Thirty‑four games await the Engineers, highlighted by home series against ECAC rivals and a season‑opening exhibition with Army

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) has released its full 2026‑27 men’s ice hockey schedule, a 34‑game campaign that blends ECAC Hockey competition with a series of non‑conference road trips. The Engineers will play 17 home games at Houston Field House, beginning with an exhibition matchup against Army on October 3.

The early portion of the season features a two‑game series with Ohio State University on October 9‑10, followed by back‑to‑back home contests against LIU on October 16‑17. RPI then heads to Rochester for a road weekend at RIT on October 23‑24 before returning to Troy for the first ECAC rivalry weekend against Union College on October 30‑31.

Conference play continues with road trips to St. Lawrence University and Clarkson University on November 6‑7, and non‑league games at the University of New Hampshire and the University of Massachusetts Lowell on November 13‑14. The Engineers will host Brown University and Yale University on November 20‑21 before a home‑and‑home series with Army on November 27‑28.

Key Rivalries and Home‑Ice Advantage

December brings a pair of ECAC home games against Harvard University and Dartmouth College on December 4‑5, and the schedule opens the new year with a home contest against the University of Vermont on January 2. RPI then hosts Colgate University and Cornell University on January 8‑9 before traveling to Yale and Brown on January 15‑16.

A highlight of the calendar is the Capital District Mayor’s Cup, where RPI meets Union College at the Harding Mazzotti Arena in Glens Falls on January 23. The Engineers close January with home games against Clarkson and St. Lawrence on January 29‑30, after which they embark on a four‑game road swing against Quinnipiac University, Princeton University, Dartmouth and Harvard.

The regular season wraps up with a final home weekend on February 19‑20 against Princeton and Quinnipiac, followed by road games at Cornell and Colgate on February 26‑27, concluding a comprehensive slate that underscores RPI’s competitive presence in collegiate hockey.
