Jaylen Mbakwe Announces Summer Youth Football Camp

Former Clay‑Chalkville standout to mentor young athletes in Center Point

Former Clay‑Chalkville Cougars star Jaylen Mbakwe is set to host a youth football camp on July 18 at Center Point Youth Ballpark, offering a hands‑on experience for children between the ages of five and thirteen. The camp will run from noon to 3:00 p.m., providing drills, scrimmages and mentorship from the former multi‑position standout.

Mbakwe led the Cougars to state championships in 2021 and 2023, excelling at wide receiver, running back, defensive back and quarterback. His high school career combined speed, vision and leadership, drawing the attention of several collegiate programs.

From Alabama to Georgia Tech

After signing with the University of Alabama, Mbakwe spent two seasons navigating the SEC as both a defensive back and a receiver, showcasing his adaptability on the field. He later transferred to Georgia Tech, where he plans to continue his collegiate journey in 2026, further refining the toolkit that has defined his career.

Beyond personal ambition, Mbakwe says the camp is about giving back to the community that helped shape him. “I want to inspire the next generation of athletes to work hard, stay disciplined, and chase their dreams,” he explained, emphasizing the importance of dedication both on and off the gridiron.

Parents and participants can expect a curriculum that blends fundamental drills with situational play, all supervised by coaches who have walked the same path as Mbakwe. The event aims to not only improve athletic ability but also instill values of teamwork and perseverance.
