Strategic Stability for the Bison Program
North Dakota State University announced Tuesday that it has secured the services of its men’s and women’s basketball coaches through the 2030‑31 season, signing five‑year extensions for David Richman and Jory Collins.
Richman, who guided the men’s team to a program‑best 27 victories, also captured the Summit League regular‑season crown and the conference tournament title, earning a berth in the NCAA Tournament and being named Summit League Coach of the Year.
Collins, meanwhile, steered the women’s squad to its third consecutive 20‑win season and a 23‑game winning streak, a run that underscores the program’s sustained excellence.
Both coaches have deep roots in the university’s basketball tradition; Richman sits second on the men’s all‑time win list with 238 career victories, while Collins ranks second on the women’s side with 127 wins in just seven seasons.
The extensions are framed as a move to provide continuity and strategic stability as the Bison program looks ahead to the next decade, aiming to build on recent successes and maintain competitiveness on the national stage.
