Cooper Williams, a former Kennesaw State All-Conference utility player, has announced his commitment to Troy University, bringing a versatile skill set and two years of remaining eligibility to the program.
Standing at 5-foot-10 and weighing 180 pounds, Williams hails from Woodstock, Georgia, where he starred at North Cobb Christian School, earning All-Region honors and ranking No. 15 in the state and No. 26 nationally as an outfielder.
Versatility at the Core
During his three-year tenure at Kennesaw State, he posted a career batting average of .295, amassing 19 doubles, three triples, 15 home runs, 70 RBIs and 27 stolen bases, while also excelling defensively with a .955 fielding percentage.
In the most recent season, Williams hit .303 with nine doubles, one triple, eight home runs, 46 RBIs and 20 stolen bases, earning Second-Team All-Conference USA recognition for his utility contributions across six positions.
His arrival coincides with a wave of experienced players opting to return for a fifth year, including All-American catcher Jimmy Janicki, pitchers Cooper Ellingworth, Hayden Smith and Noah Thigpen, as well as designated hitter/catcher Jabe Boroff and outfielder Cody Markham.
Coaches are expected to integrate Williams into a lineup that aims to build on recent successes, adding depth both at the plate and in the field as the program looks ahead to the 2027 season.
