Lenoir-Rhyne Baseball Trio Earns NCBWA All-Southeast Region Honors

Three Bears stand out with historic performances as the season wraps up

All-Region Selections

The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association has released its All-Southeast Region team, and three members of the Lenoir-Rhyne Bears have earned spots on the prestigious list.

Matt Procopio, a senior standout, concluded the season with a .436 batting average that places him fifth in the program’s historical rankings, while his 60 runs batted in and 78 hits helped anchor the lineup.

Mackenzie Wainwright matched Procopio with 78 hits, drove in 59 runs and posted a .750 slugging percentage that ranks fifth all-time for the Bears, showcasing both power and consistency at the plate.

Jack Renaud, despite a mid-season injury that limited his appearances, still recorded seven saves in ten outings, struck out 19 batters over 16.2 innings and maintained a 1.08 ERA, underscoring his impact on the mound.

A Legacy in the Making

Their selections add to a series of recent accolades for Lenoir-Rhyne baseball, a program that has steadily risen through the national ranks in recent seasons.

The university’s athletic department highlighted the honors as a testament to the team’s growth, and the achievement is expected to inspire the next generation of Bears as they look ahead to future campaigns.
