A New Era of Ratings
EA Sports is preparing to launch College Football 27, the latest edition of its flagship college football franchise, and early looks at the player rating system have already generated a buzz among fans.
Preliminary data shows the Ohio State Buckeyes holding an overall team rating of 90, tying them for second place in the game, while their offense is rated at 92, the highest of any unit, and the defense sits at 88.
Jeremiah Smith’s Perfect Score
Among the roster, sophomore wide receiver Jeremiah Smith stands alone with a 99 overall rating, making him the highest‑rated wide receiver in the entire game.
The next tier of standout performers includes Indiana’s tackle Carter Smith and Notre Dame’s cornerback Leonard Moore, each earning a 97 rating, while Ohio State quarterback Julian Sayin, a fourth‑place finisher in last season’s Heisman voting, is rated at 94.
Six Buckeyes appear in the top ten of their respective positions, underscoring the program’s depth, and defensive end Kenyatta Jackson Jr. is the only Buckeye defender to crack the top ten at his spot. As the real season unfolds, these ratings will be adjusted to reflect actual game outcomes.
