A Community Day of Play and Learning
Former Alabama standout Jalyn Armour-Davis returned to his hometown to run his first annual football and STEAM camp at Bishop State Community College, inviting boys and girls between the ages of eight and twelve to a free, day‑long experience.
The program paired on‑field drills with interactive STEAM stations, letting participants practice passing, catching and tackling while also exploring science experiments, engineering challenges, and creative art projects.
Organizers emphasized that the camp’s purpose was to fuse athletic development with academic curiosity, giving youngsters a chance to learn teamwork, problem‑solving and critical thinking in a single, enjoyable setting.
Armour‑Davis, who played college football at Alabama from 2018 through 2021 and was selected by the Baltimore Ravens in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, expressed delight at seeing the kids engage eagerly with the curriculum.
After a season with the Tennessee Titans that ended in a torn Achilles tendon, the former fourth‑round pick remains committed to community outreach, using his platform to inspire the next generation both on the gridiron and in the classroom.
