A road‑course showdown like no other
The event, scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m. Eastern on Sunday, June 28, will be televised live on both TNT and truTV, giving viewers a chance to watch the action from the historic 12‑turn road course.
Sonoma’s layout is famous for its mix of elevation changes, sweeping sweeps and tight hairpins, a combination that tests a driver’s skill and a crew chief’s strategy in equal measure.
Thirty‑two drivers will take part in a single‑elimination format, meaning each race will whittle the field down until a solitary champion is crowned with the million‑dollar purse on the line.
Among the competitors are several of the sport’s biggest names, including Shane van Gisbergen, Kyle Larson, Tyler Reddick and a host of other series regulars such as Ty Gibbs, Chase Elliott and Denny Hamlin.
The race marks the first time the in‑season challenge has been staged at Sonoma since the track’s recent renovations, and officials say the unique terrain could reshape the playoff picture as the season progresses.
