A Recruiting Milestone
Tyson Robinson, a four‑star running back from Brandon, Mississippi, announced his commitment to the University of Michigan on Wednesday, securing a spot in the Wolverines' 2027 recruiting class.
Robinson narrowed his choices to a handful of powerhouse programs, ultimately selecting Michigan over Alabama, Arizona State, Miami (Florida) and Tennessee, a decision that underscores the Wolverines' growing influence in the Southeast.
A Multi‑Sport Talent
Beyond football, Robinson is a two‑sport athlete, posting personal bests of 11.15 seconds in the 100‑meter dash and 23.38 seconds in the 200‑meter dash, highlighting his speed and agility.
During his junior season, he amassed 1,050 rushing yards on 165 carries and added 24 receptions for 295 yards, scoring nine touchdowns despite missing four games due to injury. His sophomore year was even more prolific, as he rushed for 1,295 yards and 34 total touchdowns.
Scouting Outlook
Andrew Ivins, director of scouting at 247 Sports, projects Robinson as a multi‑year contributor at the Power Four level, citing his compact build, quickness, balance and vision as traits that could translate into immediate impact.
