Dallas Mall Appointed Head Coach of Ravenwood Girls Basketball

Replacing Andrew James, the new coach brings championship aspirations and a proven track record

A New Chapter for Ravenwood Basketball

Dallas Mall has been named the new head coach of the Ravenwood girls basketball program, taking over from Andrew James, who compiled an 80‑116 record over seven seasons.

Mall, who has served as a physical education teacher and multi‑sport coach at Sunset Middle School since 2022, brings a blend of instructional experience and competitive drive to the varsity level.

Beyond the classroom, Mall earned a reputation as a standout football player at Bentley University, where he set the school record for most touchdown receptions in a career and was inducted into the Bentley Hall of Fame in 2022.

Athletic director Andy Elrod praised Mall’s enthusiasm and his ability to shape a positive team culture, while principal Pam Vaden highlighted his expertise in leadership development as key assets for the program.

The appointment comes as Ravenwood looks to snap a state tournament drought that has persisted since its last appearance in 2018, with the new coach expressing a clear ambition to elevate the team’s performance and restore competitiveness.
