Netflix has just dropped the first trailer for the third season of its popular sports documentary series "Quarterback," promising an inside look at the lives of four NFL quarterbacks as they navigate the pressures of the game and the spotlight.
Among them is Jayden Daniels, the 2023 Heisman Trophy winner and the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft by the Washington Commanders, whose meteoric rise was followed by a bruising 2025 campaign.
The teaser introduces the other signal‑callers who will share the screen with Daniels — Baker Mayfield, Cam Ward and veteran Joe Flacco — each bringing their own storylines to the mix.
A Season Marked by Adversity
Daniels’ 2025 schedule was plagued by a cascade of injuries. A Week 2 knee sprain against Green Bay sidelined him for three games, while a hamstring strain in Week 7 forced him out of a Monday Night showdown with the Kansas City Chiefs. The most severe setback came in Week 9, when a dislocated left elbow against the Seattle Seahawks kept him out for five consecutive contests.
He returned for a Week 14 matchup against Minnesota, only to leave early as the elbow injury flared again, a moment that preceded a 31‑0 shutout at the hands of the Minnesota Vikings, leaving Washington with a 5‑12 record.
Despite the setbacks, Daniels remains the second former LSU quarterback to appear in "Quarterback," following Joe Burrow’s feature in Season 2, underscoring the program’s focus on the program’s recent talent pipeline.
The series also revisits the broader narrative of Daniels’ rookie year, when he earned the NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Year honors and led Washington to its first NFC Championship Game appearance since 1992, a contrast that frames the documentary’s exploration of triumph and trial.
