Players of the Year
The state's high school baseball coaches have announced their annual Player of the Year awards, naming Concord senior Alex Turant as the Division I honoree and Belmont’s Brayden Townsend as the Division III recipient.
Turant, a standout pitcher and infielder, threw five scoreless innings against Trinity, giving his squad the early edge before they rallied to secure a playoff berth. His leadership helped the Crimson Tide close the regular season with momentum heading into the postseason, and he has committed to joining Winthrop University this fall, where he will bolster the Big South Conference.
Townsend, who anchored Belmont’s lineup behind the plate, played a pivotal role in ending a lengthy championship drought for the Bruins. Alongside 2025 Division III Pitcher of the Year Wyatt Divers, the duo formed a formidable battery that frustrated opposing offenses throughout the season, culminating in a memorable title run. Townsend will continue his career at Colby Sawyer College next autumn.
The coaches also released a comprehensive all‑state list, recognizing a host of local talent across divisions. The selections reflect a deep pool of skill in New Hampshire baseball and underscore the bright futures of the young athletes set to embark on collegiate journeys.
