Penn State Women’s Hockey Returns to D1 in DC Tournament Over Thanksgiving

Nittany Lions to face Boston College and Minnesota in Arlington, Va., as part of the sixth annual invitational

Penn State’s women’s hockey team is set to travel to Arlington, Virginia, for the D1 in DC tournament, a holiday‑week showcase that will run over the Thanksgiving weekend.

Holiday Matchups

The Nittany Lions will open against Boston College on Friday, November 27, at 5 p.m., and will return the next day to meet Minnesota at the same 5 p.m. slot on Saturday, November 28.

While Princeton will also be part of the field, the Bison will not face Penn State, adding depth to a tournament that is organized by the Washington Pride of the Junior Women’s Hockey League.

Now in its sixth edition, the invitational first appeared in January 2017 with a contest between St. Lawrence and Mercyhurst, and it has grown into a prominent platform for elite collegiate talent.

Penn State’s most recent appearance came in 2021, when the team posted a 1‑1 record, defeating Minnesota‑Duluth before falling to Ohio State, setting the stage for another competitive showing this year.
