Mimi Thiero, a senior at Quaker Valley High School, has been crowned TribLive HSSN Girls Athlete of the Year for the 2025‑26 season, securing the honor for the second year in a row.
A Dual‑Sport Phenomenon
Her impact spans both basketball and track and field, where she has set school records and led her team to notable championships.
In basketball she averaged 28.6 points and 15.7 rebounds, breaking the school’s all‑time marks with 2,021 points and 1,340 rebounds, while also posting a 5‑foot‑8 high jump that earned her a WPIAL title.
On the track, Thiero claimed her second WPIAL championship in the high jump, added a fifth‑place finish in the triple jump, and helped the 400‑meter relay squad place fourth at the district level, before tying for fourth at the PIAA championships.
Quaker Valley captured silver in the WPIAL team competition and finished sixth in the PIAA Class 2A overall standings, a testament to the breadth of her contributions.
Looking ahead, Thiero will attend the University of Maryland, where she hopes to continue excelling athletically and academically, and she says she wants to be remembered as a good teammate and a good person.
