The final weekend of official visits for the 2027 recruiting cycle concluded with two prospects committing to the University of Central Florida, bringing the Knights' verbal commitment count to fourteen. Eleven of those pledges hail from Florida high schools, underscoring the program's stronghold at home.
Recruiting momentum
Among the newest commitments, wide receiver Kaneilius Purdy from Lake Wales and interior offensive lineman Ty MontsDeOca from Lakeland Christian stand out as the top two ranked prospects in the class, each drawing attention for their athletic profiles and early interest in the program.
Defensive tackle Akhcuonam Augustin chose UCF over a slate of Power Five programs including Rutgers, Illinois, UConn and Mississippi State. Though he sits just outside Florida's top 100 athletes for the 2027 cycle, his size and technique have already attracted praise from the coaching staff.
Defensive line reshaping
The Knights also flipped defensive backs from Syracuse and Coastal Carolina, highlighted by cornerback Tyler Walker Jr., a move that adds depth to a secondary that has been a focal point of recent recruiting efforts.
While the class is taking shape, UCF continues to explore options at quarterback, with former Utah commit Thaddeus Thatcher under consideration, and remains in pursuit of an offensive tackle and an edge rusher to complete the roster.
Looking ahead
The recruiting board currently places UCF at No. 62 in the 247Sports team rankings as of June 23, a position that reflects both the promise of the incoming talent and the challenges that lie ahead in filling the remaining spots.
