Texas Teams Gear Up for National Showcase
Performance Baseball Texas 18U, a Kilgore‑based squad, has captured a spot in the prestigious Connie Mack World Series after completing an unbeaten run through the AABC Texas qualifier.
The team’s success was driven by a trio of standout athletes: Mason Barnes, a recent graduate of Spring Hill High who has committed to Seminole State College, delivered a home run and solid pitching; Travis Allen contributed a 3‑for‑4 effort and three RBIs; and Grant Adcock, headed to Arkansas State University‑Mountain Home, tossed six shutout innings with five strikeouts.
Their upcoming opponents will include fellow Texas entrants such as Dulins Dodgers, TEST Black and Marlins Baseball 18U, all of whom will join the competition at Ricketts Park in Norman, Oklahoma, where the World Series opens on Friday, June 24.
The tournament, featuring more than two dozen teams with half hailing from Texas, promises a high‑stakes showcase of talent, with Barnes already eyeing a strong performance against the Oklahoma Express and other regional rivals.
Beyond the field, the players’ college commitments underscore the blend of athletic ambition and academic planning that defines this generation of prospects.
