The Deseret News has unveiled its 2026 3A All-State boys soccer team, recognizing the elite talent that shaped the season across Utah’s high school fields.
Player of the Year: Xavier Peregrina
Xavier Peregrina of Ogden stood out with 11 shutouts this season, adding to a career total of 30 clean sheets that underscore his reliability between the posts.
His performance anchored a defense that limited opponents, while teammates contributed offensively in impressive numbers.
Jace Rodriguez, also from Ogden, led the attack with 27 goals and 20 assists, a combination that placed him among the most dynamic playmakers.
James Dettinger of Manti added 22 goals and five assists, while Trace Henderson of Morgan matched him with 22 goals and 11 assists, highlighting the offensive depth.
Other notable contributors include Tacoma Smith of Carbon, who recorded 14 goals and six assists, and Zeke Snow of Ogden, who tallied 17 goals and 12 assists.
Defensive standouts such as Grant Aardema of Ogden posted 11 shutouts, and Cody Adams of Morgan added seven goals with five assists, while Trace Anderson of Manti logged 177 steals and 175 defensive break-ups.
Goalkeepers Ty Mortensen of Carbon allowed just four goals in region play, and Landen Paulson of Richfield recorded eight shutouts and three assists from the back line.
The full list also features Nixon Curtis of Juab, Seth Winter of Emery, Aiden Olsen of Richfield, Nic Cartwright of Carbon, and others whose defensive anticipation and midfield drive enriched the season.
Coaches and analysts praised the geographic spread of talent, noting that schools from Canyon View to Ben Lomond, Logan to North Sanpete, and Grantsville all earned representation.
The Deseret News All-State selections reflect not only individual excellence but also the growing competitiveness of Utah’s 3A soccer programs.
