2026 Alabama High School Football Calendar Unveiled
The Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) and the Alabama Independent School Association (AISA) have released their complete 2026 football schedules, giving teams a clear roadmap for the upcoming season.
Fall practice will kick off earlier for the AISA, with teams taking the field on July 27, while AHSAA squads begin their preseason work on August 3. Both associations use the summer drills to fine‑tune rosters before the first games.
Regular‑season play is set to begin on August 20, a date that marks the start of competition for both leagues. The schedule was coordinated to allow schools to align their calendars and maximize attendance.
The regular season will run through October 30, giving each program a full slate of games before the postseason enters the picture.
Playoffs for both the AHSAA and AISA are slated to commence on November 6, setting the stage for a series of elimination games that will determine which teams advance to the championship brackets.
Championship festivities will culminate in early December for the AHSAA, with state title games scheduled from December 1 through December 5. The AISA will crown its champions a month earlier, on November 19, providing a distinct timeline for independent schools.
