2026 All-News-Herald Baseball Third Team Highlights Local Stars
The All-News-Herald’s 2026 Third Team showcases the most compelling performances from high school baseball squads across the region, recognizing players who combined offensive firepower with reliable pitching and solid glove work.
At the plate, Brady Wilkins of Gibraltar Carlson emerged as a cornerstone, batting close to .400 and posting an OPS above 1.000 while driving in 30 runs. Nolan Nagy from Trenton matched that production with a .405 average and an OPS nearing 1.000, adding 19 RBIs to his tally. Jordan Ford of Melvindale, an all-WWAC and all-district selection, also hovered just under .400, collected 29 hits and contributed 17 RBIs, and his .989 fielding percentage underscored his all-around value.
Easton Anthony of Allen Park Inter-City Baptist added a spark with a 1.089 OPS, 22 RBIs and 15 stolen bases, while Kale Harris of Taylor Prep and Amere Lane from Romulus Summit Academy North each surpassed the .400 mark, the former delivering a 1.064 OPS and over two dozen RBIs. Rocco Pascuzzi of Grosse Ile contributed a .359 average and six doubles, and Ryan Lawyer of Allen Park combined a .911 OPS with 30 walks and 16 stolen bases, highlighting a patient, high-on-base approach.
Pitching staffs were anchored by Brodii Hollobaugh of Gibraltar Carlson, who posted a 2.27 ERA and struck out 31 batters in 40 innings, and Nolan McGowan from Grosse Ile, who logged a 2.65 ERA with 35 strikeouts over 39 innings. Zachory Revoir of Taylor posted a 1.56 ERA, and Jacob Odziana of Taylor Prep was virtually untouchable, allowing no runs while holding opponents to a .161 batting average across more than 30 innings.
Defensive Excellence and Team Impact
Defensive reliability was a common thread, with Jordan Ford’s .989 fielding percentage and Amere Lane’s 30-run contribution illustrating how solid glove work complemented offensive output. Jack Halberstadt of Wyandotte Roosevelt overcame early-season injuries to finish with a 1.130 OPS in the final 22 games, while Juan Vasquez of Lincoln Park played a pivotal role in an 11-win turnaround for his club.
