The Cold Weather Baseball Coaches Alliance unveiled its 2026 All-U.P. baseball awards on Monday, spotlighting the region’s most outstanding high school talent. The ceremony marked the first edition of the awards, underscoring the league’s growing influence in Upper Peninsula sports.
Player Honors
Lennox Peacock of Escanaba was named Division 1‑3 Player of the Year, while Owen Baij from Norway earned Division 4 Player of the Year, reflecting the depth of skill across the Upper Peninsula’s programs.
Coaching Recognition
Scott Hanson from Escanaba captured the Division 1‑3 Coach of the Year award, and Joe Romano from Jeffers received the Division 4 Coach of the Year honor, highlighting their strategic leadership and team impact.
Assistant coaches were also celebrated, with Nels Paul and Alex Putman of Hancock named Division 1‑3 Co‑Assistant Coaches of the Year, and Bob Amundson, Brett Baij and Randy Van Gasse of Norway earning Division 4 Co‑Assistant Coach distinctions.
