The Jackson Sun has released its 2026 All‑West Tennessee baseball teams, honoring the region’s most dominant performers across every classification.
Player of the Year: Carter Winders
Carter Winders of Crockett County was celebrated for a season that combined a perfect 10‑0 record on the mound with a .489 batting average, 12 home runs and 74 RBIs, cementing his status as the area’s most complete player.
Joining him among the first‑team selections were pitchers such as James Carter of Milan, who posted a 13‑2 record and a 0.82 ERA, and Will Johnson, also from Milan, who went 9‑2 with a 1.65 ERA, while Easton Sullivan of Greenfield earned Class 1A Mr. Baseball after hitting .634 with six homers.
Other standout hitters included Tommy Baker from South Gibson, who batted .489 with 11 home runs, and Will Edwards of Greenfield, who combined a .457 average with 45 RBIs and a 10‑2 pitching record.
Coach of the Year: Brad Smith
Brad Smith, also from Crockett County, was named Coach of the Year after guiding his squad to a 40‑4 record, a feat that helped the team capture a Class 3A state championship.
The selections also highlighted the depth of talent on teams like Chester County, where Lane Estes hit .570 with four homers and 38 RBIs, and Westview’s Braydin Jones, the Division II‑A Mr. Baseball, who will continue his career at Ole Miss.
Additional contributors such as Kohen McWherter from Westview, Mason Beers of Scotts Hill, and Nash Kilburn of Crockett County rounded out a list that reflects the breadth of excellence across West Tennessee baseball.
