The 2026 American Legion Baseball All-Academic Team was recently unveiled, spotlighting nine exceptional student-athletes from across the United States. Sponsored by Diamond Sports, the honor comes with a collective $25,000 scholarship pool that rewards both athletic prowess and academic achievement.
Eligibility for the team hinges on a nomination by a manager or head coach, ensuring that only those who have demonstrated commitment on the field and in the classroom are considered. Once nominated, players are evaluated based on a blend of statistical performance, grade point average and community involvement.
Scholarship awards vary by distinction. State winners receive a modest $500 grant, while regional winners are granted $2,500 each. The team captain, selected as the top academic player, receives a $5,000 scholarship, underscoring the program’s emphasis on scholarly excellence.
