A Global Celebration of Youth Baseball
The 2026 Cal Ripken 8U World Series descended on Marlton, New Jersey, from August 18 through 22, turning the quiet suburb into a hub of youthful baseball action.
Eleven teams from across the United States and abroad converged, representing not only domestic leagues such as the Springfield Babe Ruth League and the Queensbury Cal Ripken League but also international squads from Mexico, Curaçao, Bonaire and broader Latin America.
Opening Day Showcases International Matchups
Opening day delivered a slate of cross‑border matchups, including a showdown between Mexico and Denville, a duel between Curaçao and Lowell Youth, and a contest pitting Bonaire against the host Marlton Orange.
Coaching Insights and Player Development
Local coaches Anthony Latini and T.J. Amato, both from Marlton’s ‘White’ Cal Ripken League, spoke about the noticeable strides in pitching, hitting and catching, while Greg Amato, who also leads the Marlton Chiefs Travel Baseball program, highlighted how players surmount adversity and build confidence on the field.
Beyond the scores, the tournament served as a cultural bridge, allowing families from disparate corners of the globe to share stories, traditions and a shared love of the game, forging memories that will linger long after the final out.
