Six coaching changes will shape the landscape, including the arrival of Gabe Anguiano at Copper Hills, Shaun Squires taking the helm at Mountain Ridge, Hailey North at Riverton, Shaylee Wilson at Salt Lake Academy, Tanisia Davis at Westlake, and Jhoan Alvizo at Skyridge. Each brings a different background and expectations for the upcoming campaign.
Syracuse Titans enter the season as the defending champions, having finished first in Region 1 with a 19‑3 record in 2025 and captured the 6A Championship while sitting No. 2 in the RPI rankings. Lone Peak Knights, coached by Shantel Jolley, topped Region 3 with an 18‑2 mark, earned the No. 1 RPI spot and reached the championship game a year ago. Mountain Ridge Sentinels, under Shaun Squires, posted a 16‑5 record, captured first place in Region 2 and advanced to the semifinals.
Other programs also show promise. Farmington Phoenix, led by eighth‑year head coach Sarah Beecher, went 12‑7 last year and reached the quarterfinals. Davis Darts, guided by Tanisia Davis, made the semifinals before falling to Syracuse. Layton Lancers, now in Tara Ferrin’s tenth season, will look to rebuild after losing 11 seniors. Meanwhile, Copper Hills, under first‑year coach Gabe Anguiano, tied for second in Region 2 and reached the quarterfinals, while Herriman Mustangs were eliminated by Copper Hills in the second round.
