2026 College Baseball Hall of Fame Welcomes Two Legendary Pitchers
The upcoming induction ceremony for the 2026 College Baseball Hall of Fame class will take place on February 11, 2027, in Overland Park, Kansas, spotlighting a select group of players whose collegiate achievements reshaped the sport.
Jeff Brantley, who starred for Mississippi State from 1982 through 1985, arrives at the Hall with a record that still stands as the most career wins in SEC history. His dominance earned him places in four separate halls of fame, including the Mississippi State, Mississippi Sports, and Alabama Sports halls, underscoring a career that blended collegiate excellence with a 14‑year Major League Baseball tenure.
Brantley’s professional journey saw him pitch for the San Francisco Giants, Cincinnati Reds, St. Louis Cardinals, Philadelphia Phillies and Texas Rangers, compiling a body of work that resonated with fans across the nation.
Joining him is Dave Clark, a Jackson State alumnus whose collegiate prowess earned him Sporting News All‑American honors in 1982 and the SWAC MVP award a year later. Clark made history as the first player from an HBCU to reach an NCAA Tournament regional, a milestone that paved the way for future generations.
Selected with the 11th overall pick in the 1983 MLB draft by the Cleveland Indians, Clark went on to play for five major‑league clubs, leaving a legacy that bridges collegiate breakthroughs and professional success.
A Dual Legacy of Excellence
The induction of Brantley and Clark not only celebrates individual brilliance but also highlights the broader impact of collegiate baseball on the national stage. Their stories reflect a lineage of talent that traversed from the SEC and SWAC to the bright lights of the majors, inspiring countless young athletes.
Fans and alumni alike will gather in February to honor these pioneers, whose careers embody perseverance, skill, and a commitment to the game that transcends eras.
